Played well today and our season is now up and running. I liked the formation today it was like a 4.3.1.2 set up.. :applause:

BUT..

Its the big one next week so what do you reckon?

Same formation as today?

4.5.1?

Can we do em?

Its about time we did.. **thumbup

Can we do em - yes we can.

It's a derby so form goes out the window usually. We'll be up for it more than them I reckon so I think we could snatch a win or a draw at the least.

I'm more interested in Brentford at the moment. That's going to be a welcome distraction, and it'll be very interesting to see who plays in that one. I'll start thinking about next saturday around about Thursday.

Id like to see Gardener back for Sundays game but where ???? interesting time for AMC changing a team that played so well toegther today mmmm Fahey out maybe

I also agree with the Jerome who ???? Zigic and O'connor looked good together today ????????

Think we will draw next week though as much as I would love nothing more than to silence those Vile fans once and for all and do them 3-0 :banner:

True.

I think he'll drop O'Connor and slot Gardner back in the middle.

Although personally, I'd drop Fahey for him and stay 442.

Aslong as we get stuck in and keep it tight I think we can win. Houllier getting a team up for a Birmingham derby? - PAH!

never change a winning side is what i usually stand by but i think if we brought in Gardner for fahey then we could beat the villa if we played like we did today.

I hate to be the Devil's advocate, but whilst the system worked today, if we deploy the formation we used today at Vile park, we will get torn to shreds.

Larsson was sitting central today, Fahey was sitting central, all the work up the flanks came from Ridgewell, Stephen Carr, and Murphy when he came on.

Aston Villa would have an absolute field day playing against a team as narrow as we were today, we lacked width so much... When they aint cheating and diving for FK's, Vile try and create the majority of their stuff from the wings.. We would be playing right into their 6-fingered hands if we set up the same next weekend

Oh and in terms of what I think Mcleish will play, I reckon he will go

Foster
Carr.Dann.Johnson.Ridge
Larsson.Gardner.Ferguson.Fahey
Hleb (If fit.. If not then Gardner will play here, and Bowyer take Gardners place)
Zigic

I wouldnt wish injury on any player despite who he plays for, but just to let people know, the Vile captain Stylian Petrov limped off today with a twisted knee...

Least that is an eye for an eye if Hleb is injured

Kro.

What about the home game with Blackburn and the away games at Sunderland and Bolton

How many did we score on those days, kev ??

We took 5 points from those games and Cameron Jerome started every one of them

Your hero GOC had a mere 58 minutes worth of game time (replaced by The Zig at The SOL at 2-0 down) before being shipped off to some Championship club in South Yorkshire

Says it all really
